I bought a 1978 fl250 that has been sitting in a barn for 20 + years for $50. He said it ran when he parked it, the gas tank was shot but I have an aluminum tank (it's only a gallon though) but anyway I was wondering if the black wire coming out of the motor should have continuity when the points are opened? Mine does. Continuity will break when I open the points until I mount them. I was also wondering do you set the gap with the piston at TDC (or on the T mark)? Also with it sitting as long as it did is there anything else I should do to it before I try to fire it up? Not sure on how to run the fuel lines yet with this new tank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU
