Need a replacement fuel tank for FL250
« on: November 30, 2012, 01:43:40 PM »
Hi All-

Just saved a 78 Odyssey 250 from a barn storage of 10 yrs or more. Beautiful condition everywhere except the fuel tank. Cleaned it out well, removed a lot of the rust and now have rusted holes completely through the tank. We are a welding shop and can't save this baby. Wondering if anyone out there has found a replacement tank (plastic, metal, aftermarket) that fits in place that works? I have spent all day looking on the internet already and trying to locate the proper size is a big pain. Any help would be appreciated. If I can't find one, I'll make it. Just wanted it running asap :) Thanks All!

I don't know if any manufactures have ever produced a replacement fuel cell for an FL250. You do see them from time to time with box like aluminum cells in place of the factory units. All seem to be different and maybe made by owners... It's either that or a spun aluminum canister above.

I like the original design though. You can find them on eBay and restore them. I'm doing one right now.

Good luck and keep us posted.
