new 79 fl250 owner
« on: January 03, 2012, 01:37:35 PM »
Just bought a 1979 fl250, runs great, I just need a new seat belt (previous owners dog ate it, but luckily had no taste for seats), and a engine start switch (on right side of steering wheel).  Any suggestions on inexpensive replacements?

The switch likely just grounds out the ignition when in the off position. Just about any on off switch you can make fit should work. Just note that on will be off.

Congrats on the purchase! I hope you enjoy!

LiveWire is right about the switch. If I remember correctly, Honda no longer makes a replacement for the original.

Seatbelts.... good question. Take a look over at Crow Enterprises. They have some, but I don't remember how much tho...

We have RJS belts that we carry for the FL350R and FL400R. They are not a standard part number because we mix and match pieces to get a belt that fits right. The standard bolt in belts are too long. I would think an FL250 would use a similar belt to the 350 and 400.
