Another Gravity feed question
« on: September 20, 2009, 04:54:43 PM »
Ok , so my friend and i got ahold of an FL250 but the tank was destroyed when we got it. so he bought a cylindrical chrome beautiful 5 gallon gas tank. welded mounts for it about a foot above the motor. and were wondering how we can run the fuel to the motor without grav feeding it being a problem.

My understanding of the pump is limited so i was thinking running it inline somewhere high with the tank. and running it down to the carb, possibly restricing the flow so it wont pose a problem.

any advice is great, maybe some links to help.

Ok, Solved my own problem.
Ran the fuel line down to frame level into the pump. and from the pump back up to the carb. so it gets fuel easily TO the pump. but the carb still needs the pump to open from the ventilating system used to open the flaps inside the pump and allow the fuel to travel up to the carb. all in all it runs great now.
