white lithium grease on clutch?

fl350, stock salsbury, is white lithium grease acceptable as a lubricant for the clutch(aerosol style).

No....dirt and sand will stick to it and wear it out faster.

You need to use a dry lube like Comet clutch lube.

thanx for the fast reply, i was gonna lube it up before today's ride. have had this ody for years and never done any more to the clutch than clean it with wd40. after reading the forums here i'm surprised my clutch still works?

how about dry lubricant with cerflon from liquid wrench, going through what i have here. have crc silicone spray as well.

Best is a graphite based dry lubicant like steel rope/cable lube.  You don't
want the belt to slip either, that is why it cannot be petroleum based.

Silicon can make the belt slip and would be tough to get off the clutch faces.
