« on: July 02, 2006, 05:41:23 PM »
Here is a 10 second video of my clutch after a ride. Makes alot of noise, and can even be heard over the DG pipe!!!
is this normal sounding to ya'll?
it is the 102 clutch with a purple spring. That's all I know about it so far.

That seems to sound normal. I know the 102 that was on my 350 was the noisiest thing I ever heard. It wouldn't hurt to check the bolts that hold on the arms for tightness, though.
The usual 'my two cents' disclaimer applies. :)

Hi David, Sounds fine to me too. All my 102Cs are rather"clackity" if thats a word.LOL  If you get a dry metal-metal screech or heavy clunking sounds, that is what to listen for as bad. Some dry lube on the rollers, cam arms, tower slide areas might help some too. When ever you want to pull it for inspection, let me know. I can talk you thru it.

What size is that belt? Looks a bit tight. Seems to be spinning the driven fairly fast. Does it grind alot going into gear?

Clackety is the word I was looking for!!! I am not sure of the belt size, I will try to remember to look when I pull my engine today. I don't have my digitron yet so my rpm's might be to high, why it's spinning the driven???
And actually makes a small almost unnoticable clunk when going into gear!!!
