Jetting the 583 Rotax
« on: May 25, 2006, 12:55:20 AM »
I'm wanting to know what range of jets I should pickup for the 583 to run at 6000ft. I think it has 320s in it now and it was running just a bit fat at 1100ft with them (at L.S.)  4 weeks ago.   :?:

Killpecker is 7100ft and St Anthony is 5000ft. You just going to split the difference and call her good? Just bring an assortment and I'll help you get her dialed in. How soon you going to be out here? Meeting at my place or at KP? You probably will want to swing by my place on the way back for the SnoRunner, right? I could bring it too if you need to leave early.

Weatherman says 70s for highs, 40 for lows with 50% chance for rain thru the weekend, then turning 90s! I have seen 82 once this year so far.

Anyone else want to come out to play? :D

I just went with what Jerry told me the alt. was. I'll need several jet sizes but wanted some sort of range as my finances will be running short after this trip & purchase of the Drak. so I don't want to have to buy a whole kit twice for it being a twin.

I'll be coming in late & leaving early so it'd be best if you or Dennis hauled the Bunny till I get there.

My Drakart with the 583 is jetting 2 sizes richer on one cylinder than the other. Something to note, that you have to check both sizes seperate.

When I rejetted it at L.S. I noticed it was one jet size difference between the carbs. I've been told the mag. side could run hotter so i'll have to keep an eye on it. Plug was one size colder too.

The magneto side will run leaner than the PTO side. It has to do with the added heat generated by the electrical components.
