Posting links, making them screen width friendly
« on: April 15, 2006, 11:04:41 AM »
Ig you have to post a long link...such as this:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html#117717%278%27

Here's a way to make it screen width friendly.

highlight the link and click the URL tag button up above the text box you type your messages in.

The link will then look like this

http://[url]http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html#117717%278%27[/url]

Now go in and swap the first close bracket on the opening url tag to a = sign so that http:// becomes [url=

[b][url=[/b]http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html#117717%278%27

now go to the end and before the [/url] tag place a close bracket so you get this

[url=http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html#117717%278%27][/url]

now place something to label the link between the close and open brackets at the end of the link so you get this:

[url=http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html#117717%278%27]link label [/url]

which then looks like this:

link label

Lude - you have no idea how badly I wanted to go in and fix all your long links for yoU!!!  8)
Moskito - Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming \'WOW-What a Ride!\'
