« on: February 02, 2005, 12:14:36 AM »
Thanks to Nick who sent in an OEM set to Galfer I'm getting them to make stainless steel brake line sets for pilots.

just for curiousity OEM prices for rubber lines:

steering yoke: 46420-HE0-003 $30.19*2
front wheel hose R:46410-HE0-671 $31.02
front wheel hose R:46415-HE0-671 $38.72
rear line :46430-HE0-671 $31.02

total from service honda = $160.14

hopefully stainless steel lines in a choice of 5? colors for ~$150

Compared with $280 from ATV Racing, I wish I would have waited!
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left!

Stock Honda setup is the following:
Rubber line from yoke to bulkhead and into a steel line, then it (steel line) goes to a t-fitting.  Off the T-fitting, there are two rubber lines (left/right) that goe to the wheels.

On the front end, are you just replacing the rubber lines (from yoke to bulkhead) and still using the steel line that goes from bulk head to t-fitting or are you doing the ATV Racing setup that replaces ALL the line from the yoke to the t-fitting to the brakes?

Either way, it's a great thing installing steel braided lines.  Brakes get a better feel - more progressive, better modulation.

Their ATV kits replace all the lines, not sure what we'll do for the pilot...andy advantage gain replacing the steel hard lines?

Hard lines are mounted neatly and nicely.  If you just replace the hoses, then you still have the OEM hard mounting points and it all fits nice.

No advantage or disadvantage replacing the hard lines at all.

This is for a stock pilot correct ?
If so I'm interested in a set

Both my LT machines have the ATVR kits and the difference in braking is night and day

Ok...who's in? Getting pricing firmed up this week and I think it's going to be the same as the ATVR kit....removes the hard lines up front including the T block and goes all stainless....no need to try and wrestle apart those 14 yr old connections ;)

What colors do want? Stock lengths, or for long travel?

OK, order is going in tomorrow. Anyone else interested get an email to me ASAP. I'll be putting it in tomorrow afternoon'ish

It is going to be a similiar kit to ATVR's as in it gets rid of all the hard lines up front. It will still utilize the hard line from front to the rear, and then a stainless steel lone to replace the rear rubber one.

Size is the same as stock, but the weight will be a lot less, can't see that making a big difference anywhere...but he's going to weight them just for kicks and compare to stock ;)

Price will be $160.00+shipping for those ordering now, in store they will be $185.00+shipping.

Oh..anyone wanting 2" longer or 3" longer can get them in this order at no extra charge, normally they'll add $7.50 custom charge for any changes from the stock setup.  I'm getting +2 and straight banjo ends for mine, and they're only going to charge the custom charge once on this invoice.

Would you please place the order through the store. If I don't have the colors in as options when you place it, just please note it in the comments sections.

Thanks,

Brian

I putting the shipping as $15...if it turns out less I'll refund the difference.

use coupon code " Pilot SS brake kit " so they'll come up as $160+ shipping
