I have a fl 350 that every-time you try to start the engine with the electric starter the green wire running in the plug next to the pull start heats up and smokes. I have checked all of my ground wires and they are all tight. the bike was running the day before this started . now i have no fire to the plug. and a fried wire were can i start so i can solve this..

By chance did your electric starter short out on you?

I'd disconnect the starter 12V line from the solenoid and verify you can trigger solenoid OK.

That smoked wire needs to be removed and replaced.

Theres also a fuse out by the battery to be checked also. with the key on the lights should work if not check this fuse.

Starter is drawing too much current and the weak link was your ground line that enters intot eh stator area. Repalce it. But, first correct the short.

Actually I just went out and checked the spare engine. :)

I'd check your solenoid and rectifier first.
