Stock clutch removal
« on: March 31, 2004, 10:43:28 AM »
Guys I have 2 stock clutches to remove. I was going to buy a box of 14 x 1.5 bolts and start including them with the pullers I send oout and for anyone who needed them. I was told it's hard for you guys in the US to get metric bolts.

I can get the 14x1.5 in 8.8 grade today....in a 10.9 grade it will take 2-3 months!!! And guess where they come from....the US

I'm told a grade 8 imperial = 10.9 metric
What is 8.8 metric equal to.....grade 5 imperial?

Question is (well 3rd one I guess :)) Will a metric 8.8 be strong enough to use on the OEM clutch threads?

I've not found it "hard" to get metric.  We have a couple of good fastener shops around here and they have or can get just about anything you want.  Metric stuff is not hard to come by, I'd say the biggest problem is finding someone who knows what in the hell they are doing when you walk into a place for help.
