Pilot top-end
« on: April 08, 2004, 04:16:42 PM »
Got the top end off my pilot in preparation for the K-Fab head install. compression was only 140 so I decided to pull the cylinder after I noticed that the piston seemed to have quite a bit of play in it. Here is a link to the pics I took.

I use the caveman method of measuring piston to cylinder clearance ( a feeler guage) and came up with .012" at the top and >07 at the bottom of the cylinder. The ring end gap for the top ring was .041, and the bottom ring was .045.

If I have to go to the next size over it will be a wiseco, but I already have one on hand.

I'm ready for questions.

The jury is still out on that, but at least I will be able to answer the questions I couldn't before.
