Nukem

I still have your transmission in a box......  right now it is cheaper to buy a used transmission off ebay than to rebuild.

I'll keep it safe and sound until you want to do something with it.

Powerplay,

you should have an email from me.

I forgot to add the piston pin(if we decide to just re-ring) and the total will be $14 more than what I quoted.

Adnoh is the Pilot guy around here......he will get you headed in the right direction.

I got your email.....but didn't read your post first.  80.00mm is the standard bore.

As far as boring the cylinder, you will need to determine if it needs it.

Can you feel a grove on the top of the cylinder where the piston ring stops?  Do you have access to a micrometer or dial bore indicator?  You will need to measure the area where the piston ring stops on the top of the stroke(that is where the most wear occurs).  And you need to check for roundness of the cylinder bore.

I hope this helps and not confuses you...

Ok so is there a way to purchase new thrust washers only or will I have to buy a connecting rod kit again?

Also what about the siezed crank shaft- Its very tight -  any thoughts ?

The crankshaft bearings are too tight because the connecting rod+the washers is too wide.  Make sense????

We need to know what washers you do have.  Do you have a set of calipers?

I would question the clowns at your shop, and the guy you bought it from.  Both have let you down.....

I wouldn't be so blunt but I have issues like this happen weekly from customers.  They buy something incorrect or have something done by others that was installed incorrectly.

I am glad you found this place, you have probably saved a bunch of $$$ by catching this in time.

This neighbor kid has taken an interest in working on Pilots........

He is pretty smart too, unlike most youth of today.

I have 3 more toys that I have added to the stable.   If anyone is interested in a 116HP Odyssey project let me know.  It is rough but has potential.  Stretched to 9 feet, and a Honda V65 engine.

That is what I thought......Oddatv right????  He likes to send me hate mail.

I would have to say the guy you bought them from doesn't know what he is selling.  Your thrust washers are probably to thick.

The kit I sell has the correct washers and is cheaper.

Odyssey FL350R / Got an fl350 with no engine, what to do? easy swaps?
« on: March 01, 2009, 01:14:14 PM »
You are in luck.....

There are several guys here that have grafted engines into the 350.  FL670R and I know Pilothawk is putting a Phazer motor into his pilot.

As far as reliability, ask FL670R.  He has built one bad Ody with a sled motor.

The guys here are very helpful and can help with your conversion if you choose to go that route.

I prefer the stock engine but modified to keep cool.  But it is relatively stock looking and you don't have to fabricate alot of parts.  In the end it is more expensive and you will have less power than you would with a sled engine if you had to buy a stock motor and rebuild it.

What happend with the stock engine????

I hope this helps with your decision.
