General Discussion / disc brakes, seat & shocks 89 pilot WHERE TO BUY THEM?
« on: December 06, 2009, 04:19:25 PM »
In all fairness to Steve, it may not have anything to do with him since the products do not pass through him but rather are shipped directly to the customer from Works to his specifications.  I would hope he has abandoned drop shipping from Works.

"...Steve at Aftershock has done lots of testing and tuning on works shocks and can offer some good advice as what to get.....The set up depends on your weight as well as the type of terrain you are riding on.... "

You really think so Randy!  Maybe I was an unwitting test subject.  Wish my Pilot didn't ride like an unloaded delivery truck.

Good video Randy.  Have you tried adding the file to a zip archive and then attaching it.

So did you implement the groved rid and have you had a chance to drive it in the mud?

Welcome to the site Chet.

FYI:
A small group are planning on a ride at Durham Town Plantation in November.  We could always use another rider.  BTW, DTP is about 90min East of ATL close to Union Point.  I suspect Hoodlum will chime in shortly with details.

Looks like the weather was just about perfect.  Just enough rain to beat down the dust.  Hopefully next year I'll get my spirit back to ride again.

There are two types of the tubing insulation at Home Depot made by Armacell.  The one you want is called Tubolit.  The one you don't want is called Armaflex.   The Tubolit reminds me of the material they make swimming pool floats out of.  The Armaflex will tear very easily and is thinner.  Don't size the insulation too small and try to stretch it to fit.  Its better if it fits loosely.

Its been nasty in East Tennessee all day.  I've never seen so much snow without accumulation in my life.  I hope it's not like this at DP.

Service Honda shows a different part number for the 350 with a major. price difference:
53150-HB3-003   JOINT, BALL  47.75  34.93

Quite a bit more than the $6.11 I paid for the 400 ball joints.
Maybe someone knows if the 400 will fit the 350.  Wonder why the huge difference in price.  Actually I was surprised how cheap the 400 joints were.  This was a first.  I'm always shocked at how much a part is.

If the 350 uses the same as the 400, they're available at the dealer.  I just purchased 2 sets (L & R) from Service Honda for $6.11 each.

Odyssey FL350R / wanted pilot mag/ flywheel
« on: February 14, 2007, 06:49:25 PM »
Only three!  Not much of an issue then.  The one I had belonged to Rocketman.  I think Throttle bought one from you at some point or maybe it was just the case puller.  I just didn't want someone else having the same problem.  On the up side the case puller worked excellent.  I ended up getting a new crank from Livewire.  I finally got to run it last weekend at Durhamtown Plantation in Georgia.  It ran great.  Compression was right on spec at 148 psi.  Only issue I had was the  exhaust pipe broke in half right below the engine exhaust port.  Loudest noise I have ever heard in my life!  Fortunately we had another and I was back up in no time.

Sorry about hi-jacking this thread.  Lee I hope you get your Pilot fixed.
