Hey guys I got a gravity feed tank I'm gonna install but I was reading someher on here u still need the fuel pump? Is this true and why sorry if the quistiions has been asked befor just couldn't find anything on it?

You have to make sure you get enough volume and pressure, but not enough pressure to overcome the inlet needle in the carb. Often the spun aluminum tanks will starve the engine of fuel when they are getting low. One way to keep the pressure the same with full or low fuel is to use the pump and put a tee in the pressure line that goes to the top of the tank. Fuel pressure will then always be the same as without the pump, but a full tank of fuel.

I know it's been while since this post, but thanks, I was wondering the same thing. :)

Other things to note on those spun tanks is:
1. The hole in the tank is often much smaller than the fitting. Drill out if that is the case.
2. There may be metal shavings in the tank when new from when they drilled the hole.
