Has anyone heard of a power steering being added to a Pilot. I broke my neck racing motocross and am now a quadriplegic with limited strength. I own a Pilot with the CR500 mod & long travel suspension but I don't have the strength to steer it at lower speeds. Any ideas?

Considering many quads now have power assist steering,I am sure that a system could be made to work.....Th e only draw back being the pilot wheel turns lock to lock in less than a half a turn, and can't go much more than that due to the control cables going to the wheel as well as the position it will put your arms and hands in when turned more than it does now, which pretty much rules out 99.99% of the steering racks on the market now.........I don't see much way to di it without adding a rack of some sort.....

Ask BuggyBaz about it - he has put it on a Drakart and he also uses a quickener and a pilot steering wheel so there are lots of similarities (very little wheel movement etc). Its an electric setup. I think you can find him at MBN

Thank you for your suggestion. I am not sure what "MBN" stands for but I would like to try and contact Buggybaz to find out how he did it.....any ideas on how to contact him?

You could possiably use a Unisteer Electric system and still maintain the existing linkage. The Unisteer would replace part of your steering shaft. You would need to weld spline couplings on the ends to mate with the splines on the unisteer. Then make a bracket to support the unit. Due to lack of room for the Unisteer the existing Steering yoke will need to be modified or a new built.

i put a rack on the front of mine with a qwickiner in line so it has 1/2 turn lock to lock much easyer then stock you could even put a sag power valve inline i do it on bigger buggies u would just have to figure how to mount pump on motor.
