Title: air screw
Post by: tommykart on May 10, 2010, 03:50:19 PM
just purchased a FL250.  Running a 32:1 fuel mix.  where should the air screw be set at??  Manual says approx 2 turns out from closed but that is for 20:1 fuel mix.  When they say 2 turns is that 2 full revolutions or what?? I do not have a tach to set the throttle stop so how do I tell if it is idoling at 1500 rpm like the manual says??

2 turns is o.k. for warm tempratures, but may need to go back to 1 1/2 turns when it gets cold outside...That is complete turns...A good way to check is to warm it up and hit the throttle...When you let off, does it drop back to idle fairly quickly or linger for a little bit before dropping back to idle? If it lingers, close the screw up a little....
Turning the screw out leans the mixture....A 20:1 mix is a leaner mixture than 32:1,so 2 turns out would be more suitable for the 32:1 mix than the 20:1...
