Man that was just way to cool. Now if there was a way to shoot front and rear at the same time split screen. That would be super way cool. I must say the shock action was nice.  I have got to try that next time out. See what you started Hoodlum. Now everbody will be shooting wheel travle video. I know I will.

Thank you!!! How hard was that???
From what I can see my upper links are not as long from cleveis to clevis... Get a measurement if you can from one side to the other... the ody knuckle stacks these one on the other in a straight line as where the pilot knuckle has them further out from the center...
Also measure the links themselves...
Thank you

Idea for less drag??? What is that a link that is grooved one side to the other???
Are you using the pilot steering stops or are the nuts hitting the big hiem as a steering stop as on mine? The opy's steer stops were (STOCK) on j-arm and knuckle???
Your piece that is welded to the fram is 20 times stouter than what is welded to my subframe?

The new link material is a splined shaft..The contact point between it and the big heim joint would be 50% less than the other drag links, and would allow mud to be caked in it without it effecting the steering...I am curious if it will make it too easy to steer...
My stock stops hit,but at the same time, the nut on the drag ling reaches the big heim...In other words,if the stock stops weren't there,it would still stop in the same place....
As for the measurement you asked for,it's probably irrelevant, because in order for that measurement to apply to your machine, the width of the 2 machines would need to be the same, and I don't think that's the case...I think the oddy is a bit wider after the subframe is added to it...Also,the big heim joint could be farther inside than mine which would also mean they would need to be shorter, which isn't a bad thing because it would allow the tie rods to be longer, and make it easier to adjust out bumpsteer...Realise we are dealing with a pilot and an oddy...Measureing the length of the drag links and tie rods and you copying the measurements probably won't work...
As for the tab, when it is adjusted correctly, there shouldn't be any force,or not much anyways, pushing back on that tab...It should be mostly pushing straight up if anything....My first guess is that you need to move the big heimjoint forward...This pushes the drag links forward and keeps the tierod/draglink angle from reaching the point where it reaches the wierd angle and causes it to lock up....Getting in this angle also causes them to push back on the tab...Look at my pic of the tierod/drag link angle when the steering is turned completely to one side and compare it to yours...You also may have the steering set to turn too much as well.....

all the pic's I have are from when I first intalled this, I am not at home so I am going from pics only, and yes the length is important to me for in case I try this on my pilot!
what is causing my steering to lock up is the nut hitting the big hiem and the tab bending

Good video Randy.  Have you tried adding the file to a zip archive and then attaching it.

So did you implement the groved rid and have you had a chance to drive it in the mud?

Haven't tried the splined rod yet,but in the near future...

My background in redneck engineering tells me the groveves. Willcollect. Small grains of sand and rocks and jam up your steering wheel? Am I the only one seeing this?

Actually,I plan on testing before I go through the trouble of putting them on the machine...

instead of going with the splined tube next time just get 4 flats machined on your tie rod leaving 4 rounded corners and room for mud to clear

So what happened with the grooves, did they collect sand and rocks or was this a non factor?

No problems at all... I do lube them every now and then because over time, they will squeak and I hate squeeks....LOL.... I have ridden in mud, water, dust, etc., and have not had the first problem.....
