Title: Rework rear LT upper arm
Post by: Adnoh on April 06, 2009, 09:53:34 PM
I rework the rer upper arm on my long travle projest becaus I did not like the way the ATVR arm and hub was aligned inrelation to the axle shorting up the wjheel base using the stock shock mouinting locations. I opped to lenghten it out and move it back alowing for 14.5 inch of travle. This changed the way the ball joint rode on the axis before bind. This also uses the same Lt ATVR axle. I will share some pics. This alos allowed the rear to rake back thu bump like the front trx set up does and add more droop into the suspion maintaining ride height. I used the stock arms cutting and adding new outright  at a new angle to the pivots and added stiffner. If this works out I will have some one fab up ones that match but done right. These are just for test purposes. Plus it only cost $12.00 to fab up. I also change the I rod and radius rods. They needed to be longer beacuse it moved out and back. I also get negitave camber gain thu bump which will help keep tire levle on ground during body role.

Thanks pilot hawk. When I built this I planed on using the stock shock mounting locations and as you all know I rean into a few snags. I theroized that if I rebuilt the upper arm I could use them. Well my tender springs got here and Yes the upper and lower shock relocate brakets are gone. The reworked arm allowed to put the shock right ware I hoped, in the stock mounting locations. Now I'am happy that it does not looked  all hacked up( still is thu).  I did do some testing and are very please it like to fly and handles much better. I will test this week end at dunes and get vids to share good bad or otherwise. I think I may be done and ready for new project. Can we say go fast motor I got the suspion now, I have been looking for updates so I could copy but cant seem to find any. Oh well heres the pics.
