Well, I've been on a quest to restore my oddy and I ran into a problem I cant seem to understand.
I recently had the rear suspension components powder coated and put everything back together as normal. When I tried to install the rear showa shocks, (I know these are crapola) I barely was able to slip in the mounting bolts because the shocks are so stiff.
After I finished the rear suspension, I lowered the oddy to the ground and I noticed that there is no sag in the rear. I tried jumping on the back of the oddy and the shocks are not compressing. My worry about this is it look like the outer u-joints on the axle are hitting against each other and I feel like if I take it out for a spin I'm going to destroy the u-joints.
Did I do something wrong or are the oem shocks garbage?

You guessed it. The OEM shocks suck. (un)Fortunately it seems like you need to upgrade to new shocks. I've been told my many that works shocks on their 350 is the single best modification you can do for your odyssey.

I do need to the bite the weenie and buy works shocks all around. But is it normal for the oem shocks to freeze up like that? Cuz when I jump on the back of the oddy, the only thing that's compressing is the air in the tires :(

It happens all the time. You're looking at a machine that's old enough to have graduated with a master's degree. 23 years is a lot to ask of shocks that have been exposed to water, much and mud. Without any way to service the shocks.....5-10 years were about all you could expect out of them at best, and they weren't that good from the beginning. If you are seriously in the market for shocks, hit up this guy. He's got tons of 350 experience and will do you right.
