Title: To the Dunes, To the Dunes, to the Dunes, Dunes Dunes!
Post by: Moskito on November 25, 2004, 03:46:37 PM
Happy Turkey Day!

Just seeing if anyone else is going to the Ogilby area of the Dunes this weekend???  We're heading out tomorrow morning.

I know that Nick and a few others are going, but I don't know where...

Look for the Dez, a single seat Taz and a blue Coyote.

Time to go watch the insanity (or so I'm told.)

We were at Gecko between a large group from Kansas  and another group from Oregon.Tons of fireworks all week long where we camped. My future ex-wife will hurt you bad when she catches you - you should have never looked at her Pilot and graffitted (is that a word) it. If she ever meets up with you don't look into her  eyes - just talk to hers shoes  or she'll do that Jedi mind thing on you..........
By the way whats the diff between the creature comforts of a pilot and a Taz car...lights, instruments etc

I guess I'll just have to stay clear of your future ex.....  :D
(one has to have a mind to let the Jedi thing work, so I guess I'm safe!  DOH!  )

Hmm... that last question is loaded...

I guess it all depends on what you want.   The latest Tazcars are running Eco-Tech engines (four cylinder automobile power plant) and they have a full set of gauges - tach, temp, volts, oil press, just to name a few.

Neil and crew can pretty much customize a Taz to have what ever you want.  I've seen everything from the single seater (that RIPS!) that has almost no accessories other than a Digitron to a full blown Baja tour ride that has everything from a GPS nav system to extra cargo space.

I guess it just depends on what you want and how much your future ex will let you spend.

So far, so good!

Dunes were killer - had a blast and the Dez never missed a beat.

I prepped it yesterday for the race this coming Saturday.  I may have to go do some "testing" tomorrow.  Afterall, it is sunny, I have a desert car and I am in the desert....

I'll groove and install new rear tires on Friday, clean the filters and get the fresh air system back on the car and head south in to Mexico.

My only complaint is that it's COLD here.  It's not supposed to get down to freezing at night! - but it does warm up to the low 60's during the day.  Oh well. :D
