Title: Rear brakes keep freezing up!!!!
Post by: Tattool23 on July 02, 2010, 09:45:56 AM
I got the odyssey and it had no parking brake cable or arm assembly on the caliper. Got a cable and all the parts, complete cleaned and rebuilt the rear caliper to perfect working order. Put all back together bleed the brakes until they r working great. Could lock up the tires on pavement. All is good for a short bit then during riding and minimal rear brake use they will completely freeze up. Locked up solid and the caliper gets frighteningly hott. As soon as I crack the bleeder open it releases and roles perfectly. I keeps on doing this. Very frustrating. Could this be the master cylinder?? I am going to rebuild that as well. Could it be the old rubber lines? Or even the metal lines? Is this a common problem with an easy fix? Please help with this. Thank you.

I would check to see if the cable from the yoke to the master cylinder is adjusted to tight. If the master cylinder is not allowed to return far enough, the brake pressure will not release.
