Post by: 350nut on April 03, 2004, 06:47:17 PM
Does anyone have a detailed photo of there works shocks mounted on his/hers 350 by chance?I have to mount 2 on the rear of my 350 project and have forgotten how the special mounts they give you are assembled. Also if you have the top mounts as well that would be greatly apprec, thanks alot.Mine have rese's on them as well so I would like to use pictures to use in the process of mounting them on the frame somewhere so they do not get damaged as well.

Yes Mgr, on the bottom mount they provide you with 2 inserts for the trailing arm (outdise and inside)bolt, nut, then 2 alumn shims for the shock itself, there was also a large alumn spacer provided as well as 2 flat washers, is the large alumn spacer for the top mounts? Is the fender bracket that is needed for the rear fender to be mounted in between the shock and the frame, then the spacer on the outside of the shock mount followed by the shock bolt?Or is the spacer to be used in between theshock and frame? Thanks for the reply, hows things, email me whem you get a chance.

The fender bracket goes on the outside of the top shock mount. The spacer used to be a top hat style and is inserted from the inside out on the top mount. The fender bracket acts as the out side thrust surface. Caution do not overtighten the shock bolts. The shocks mounts will bend and/or break. Thats were the jam nut comes into play for the top mount.
