Title: Really stupid question
Post by: Mudfun on March 01, 2014, 03:45:43 PM
I've been riding two strokes my whole like, but always bikes.
The FL250 we just picked up is what I have a question about. I know it has a centrifugal clutch, like my first mini bike in the early 70's. With the mini bike, motor off, I would walk it to where ever, and you could hear the whole mess of moving parts make noise, but I could still push it. With the FL250, it take MASSIVE force to push it.
Neither brake is locked up, and I don't know what else to look at.
Any ideas?

A 250 guru may chime in, but off the top of my head, since there is no neutral on the 250s, it may be the drag of the belt against the clutches and/or chain case friction.

It is the belt dragging. Mine is loose enuf that you would think it would but still does same thing.

So I could in effect temporarily remove the drive belt, and thus be able to push it with more ease?
