ZR600 EFI 1990 Honda Pilot Transplant -Test and Tune
Here's some clips from the day of testing and tuning we had on Saturday. (double click the video when playing to open in Windows Media Player Full screen)

Had some issues with cracked V-force reeds (they were in it when it was purchased) that made tuning in the morning futile.

Waited for the weather to cool off some, and went back out around 5pm, tuning went much better.  I didn't spend much time at it, as I wanted to just get it running decent and let Ted have some seat time. I had 5 fuel maps that I  pre-programmed and just went with the best of the 5 and didn't bother trying to better it any. After a year of running, the 1 into 2 throttle cable junction that I modified decided to act up (the pilot cable end kept pulling out of the block) and after 5 or 6 times of sticking it back together, I jimmied it and it held together to allow about 2 hours of hard running with about 3 (totaling 15 minutes) breaks to inspect things, switch drivers and give it a chance to cool off a bit. The battery maintained 11 volts, running the fan constantly, and only using the trickle charge setup from the electric start kit.

It topped out yesterday at 111km/hr with 24x11x10 489XT rear tires on, at 8120rpm. I have previously topped out at 121km/hr with the other pipes, there's more to gain from some fine tuning of the EFI map and some cooler, drier air. It's been SOOO hot and muggy here it was hard to get anything done this weekend.

Enjoy the clips ;) [/b]

« on: June 29, 2007, 01:33:08 PM »
5 plastic radiator plastic red shrouds
3 belt guards
3 fuel tanks (no hardware or caps, stripped tanks, nothing on them)
2 plastic OEM front skids
2 red headlight backs
4 headlight assemblies (1 has no lamp)
4 OEM mirrors - sold
3 cylinders - gone
3 air boxes
3 intake tubes (sorry hoodlum - just found them!)
1 CDI
2 coils
1 power bloc clutch, used
1 stock clutch
2 starters with repair kits
box of odds and ends, dowel pins, seals, studs castle head nuts, etc
3 used choke cables

I bought another pilot and when it arrives (2-3 weeks) I'm going to pull the engine and related parts and convert it to a 600 EFI as well. So, from air box to exhaust is going to be available soon after it arrives.

Interested in something, make an offer, in a few days-week it's going on eBay. Thanks

I got a line on some new crate engines, they're from 2000 Powder Specials...same as the ZR600 I'm using in our conversions. They are short blocks, meaning you'll still need throttle bodies, ECU, and coil, well and exhaust...but stock won't fit anyhow :P

Pull start is included. I have used an electric start kit from another AC sled, from a guy on eBay, $250+shipping.

This is a limited time offer, I need to place how many I want within the week. I know I can get 5, more than, I don't know how many.

Let me know if you want any.

$2300+shipping

Brian

« on: June 04, 2007, 09:42:58 AM »
Looks like surgery I've been waiting for quite some time now finally has a date attached to it....just sucks that it's Sept 18th   And I'll be out of commission for awhile afterwards. Sucks, I really wanted to get down and see some old faces and the skid-doo pilots too....no go this trip though :(

Pilot FL400R / 1" final shafts for pilot transmissions
« on: March 30, 2007, 06:04:04 AM »
We have one pilot totally stripped down (it' going to get some mad scientist attention   ) Whike it's down I'm going to split it's trnny and have some new final shafts made with a 1" straight shaft and 1/4" keyway instead of the pilot's splined output.

I'm going to get at least 3 made for our pilots, anyone else interested? I can have the 1" portions made long and you can cut it to length. The more I get made the cheaper they'll all be ;)

General Discussion / Memberlist Pruned
« on: March 21, 2007, 11:07:56 PM »
If you have previously registered and have never posted, your account has been deleted, sorry, but I did it to clean out the memberlist as there was a ton of bogus accounts being created by porn sites. They just want to have an account to post a link to their website in. They never used to activate their accounts, so I only pruned the non-activated accounts, now they activate them, next step they'll make a post to bypass that...ah well, I have a plan for that if need be.

NO MORE PORN AFFILIALATED SITE LINKS! Register somewhere else!

General Discussion / Pilot Arctic Cat 600 EFI Engine's everywhere!!! LOL
« on: February 10, 2007, 12:11:05 PM »
3rd Arctic Cat 600EFI engine is on it's way    And a 4th buildable from separately bought parts is on its way too!!!    :D

So to recap, for my benefit too. lol One engine's in and runing, 1 more complete one ready to start a fresh install. One complete engine coming (need clutches) one nearly complete 4th engine in pieces coming (need clutches and throttle bodies and cables).

Mine has a stock pipe, but I have a set of duals I'm playing with and the ECU chip that matches them.

Another set of duals on the way as well.

Now to set some time aside to get some mounting cradles done and clutch adapters and supports.

And clean out the rest of any pilot engine related pieces laying around  :P

So all 3 pilots will have 600 EFI's in them hopefully by spring. So the last 400 engine will be sold then. It's the best one of the ones we've had, for some reason Ted's always ran strong and had the least amount of troubles

And I'll have one 600EFI left for parts or to sell as a kit for someone who wants to pretty much bolt in a 100hp EFI powerplant.:);)
