Odyssey FL350R / My fl 350 with 480 4 stroke quad build

Ok I while back I decided I needed more power  8) and a 4 stroke engine, right now I live in costa rica and two stroke engines suck with all this altitude change. I blew my engine twice, so I went ahead and purchased a used 400z quad engine and purchased a big bore kit, new valves new web cams, new stroker crank, new everything to convert into a 480z. :o
Then I purchased a used yfz450 quad frame and went ahead and gutted that thing to where I could use the a arm frames and mounts that way I could keep oem specs on the a arms, and purchased longtravel ohlins shocks to go with those.
I have most of the stuff ready im working on the last details but should be finished pretty soon, I tried uploading pics but im on my phone and its not loading ill do it later from home cheers

I didn't see any thing about checking your battery.

check the battery for what voltage?
It wouldnt turn the engine if it didnt have enough juice in it would it?
Or it might turn and not give spark do to not enough voltage?
any idea thanks

I dont know what color it is for sure.  I went to a Dupont paint store and picked it out of the color plates.  I like it cuz its different.  I havent had time to crank and test the intake yet, but plan on doing it soon.  Hope it makes a difference worth the work.

you never updated this, how did it work out?

everything looks great,i would recommend to change the blue tubing you used, and use a straight hose so its not as restrictive as the one you have just an idea  :D

I just picked up a 38mm Mikuni TMX11 and I am looking for a base line for jetting for this carb.

It is a new take off from a 2001 CR250. The main jet is a 420 and the slow jet is a 35.

I have the following mods on my FL350:
80mm Wiseco
DG pipe with a FMF Quiet Core II silencer
Modified air box (used 6 small UNI 1" filters in lid)
No port work.
The elevation I will be running at is from 4500 to 9500 feet.

If anyone out there running a 38mm Mikuni with similar modifications could give me a guideline as to where to start jetting at I would greatly appreciate it!

ok im going the same way with the same carb, im in about 1500 ft they suggested i started with a 45 slow jet and to start with a
175 main jet. on the needle position since I don't know
if it is the same needle i have i suggest to start
on clip position 1 from the bottom up then test. hope this gives you a guide line, you can probably ask the guys from aftershockmotorsports.com there preatty cool they might give you a better idea on that type of elevation.

Did you check your ground connections to make sure they were getting good contact?Especially the one that grounds the engine to the battery....You may even try running a ground wire from the neg. battery post, and touching it to the metal threads on the plug to be sure...
Usually a cdi either works or it doesn't...There wouldn't even be an intermediant spark....If the ground didn't help, and you're positive about all your electrical connections, then the cdi would be next...Did you check for voltage at the plug wire when turning the engine over?

Look here...Page 185 tells you how to check the cdi unit.....
http://aftershockmotorsports.com/manuals/Honda/FL350R-Odyssey/Honda-FL350R-Odyssey-Manual.pdf

Ok i checked all the grounds everything looks good,i tried testing the cdi but all the readings where totally different from the chart,i did check at the plug wire and im getting less than 1 volt.

What type tester do you have? Is it compatible with the one specified in the manual?

no its not one of the 2 that they say to use,i dont have access to any of those im living in Costa Rica at The moment so i bought the best one they had at the store,i only get less than 1 volt to the plug wire when turning the engine

Ok i finally got my new cd i got spark now and it started but only when pull starting it when i use the electric start there is no spark at all what could it be?
its a new starter it doesnt sound like its dragging,it turns fine but theres no spark at all any ideas on what to check?
