84 Fl250 overfuel issue doing my head in
« on: April 20, 2016, 12:58:59 AM »
Hi All just joined up from New Zealand ,I have searched the site before posting this but not found anything to help me..
I have an overfuel issue ,it will idle fine runs & drives fine but fuel poor out of the over flow .. Now below is what ive check to save any time wasting.

completly flushed the system & tank
checked the needle & seat ok & floats are good if I blow into the fuel inlet then raise the floats with a finger it blocks airflow
the t fitting is in place & the return lone is coming off the short side & the carb feeds off the top port
there is fuel pooring back into the tank via the return line when shes running but still blowing fuel out the overflow..

Has anyone struck this could it be the fuel pump over fueling & would it be enough the force the seat open ?? I was going to try  gravity feed form an old bike tank & see if it stops the fuel blowing out ,to try pin point the fault

SO cheers in advance any ideas carb or pump ???

have you set the float height properly that maybe the cause of over fueling
