How to test cooling fan function and thermostat function?
« on: April 01, 2014, 10:49:52 AM »
Anybody know a good way to test if the cooling fan is working? and thermostat is functioning. I have never noticed it come on. My machine has the radiator moved up behind the drivers head. I have not run it real hard for long periods nor on hot days as of yet. owners manual did not have any info.
Thanks

I would have to look at the wiring diagram to verify, but it is probably just a matter of jumping the wires across the switch. You could test the switch by removing and putting in a pot of boiling water then testing with a multi meter.

Moving the radiator up into air flow has a significant impact. The fan might not be coming on because it is not needed.

I did the hot water treatment and a ohms meter and they both tested good. and My radiator is up high, and have yet to run hard on a hot day. normally at 60 degrees or below.
