Different front wheel offset

I understand what changing the track width on front suspension can do, but I'm curious what real-world effect (good or bad) you guys have seen with going to a wider offset wheel, like the front rims on this FL350:



Does it severely impact the handling stability?

If the tie rods are stock, they will bend the first big rut you hit. The yoke will get ripped out of your hand.
