Oil premix ratio
« on: May 20, 2012, 07:33:42 PM »
Is it safe to run 40:1 or leaner on premix in the FL350 engines, provided you use good quality 2 stroke oil? What are you guys running?

In my opinion, 40 to 1 is safe. That's my limit, though.
The usual 'my two cents' disclaimer applies. :)

Pet peeve alert. Less oil is not leaner. Lean is a term to describe air fuel ratio. Less oil will actually make your air/fuel slightly richer.

I run my oil at 32:1. 40:1 would be fine as well.

I wouldn't call that a pet peeve. That's excellent info, and something most folks don't realize.

I'm glad you took it as that. Some people seem to take it as being nit picky.

Well if it has the potential to seize an engine, I wouldn't call it nit-picky :-)
