Durhamtown race in Nov.
« on: August 30, 2010, 07:16:41 AM »
Our nov.11th-13th durhamtown trip will include a rally type race with a class for us...There is a side x side race in the evening after the trails close with the swamp loop as the course....Each vehicle will be timed on their lap,and can either consecutively or one at a time before tagging out with their partner...Mike (dp owner) is going to make a class for us and allow us to run this race...This we be a BLAST!!! I can't think of a better section of trail to have this event on...The race will start at 4 and end at 8,meaning it will conclude in the dark,so good lights will be a must...We currently have 2 cabins reserved and can accomodate up to 12 people, but we need to know who is in and who is not pretty quick...You don't have to race, and there will be plenty of riding during the days we are there, but the race is just an added benefit...There will also be live music that night on the outside stage,as well as other activities during the weekend....Here's the link...

Is it true none of the pilot guys entered the race?
If so, why not?

No,we didnt enter the race....We attempted to ride the course on Saturday before the race, and it carried us through the new 4x4 park, which is littered with deep water/mud holes that would completely swallow the pilots whole, and huge rocks that would take 4x4 to go over....Unknown to us,just before the race, the drivers complained about the section and it was bypassed...By that time,we had already decided against it,and moved to the other side of the road to ride since they closed the trails across the road at 3:30.......We didn't learn of the course change until later that night at the lodge.....Mike did tell us there would be more to come and the 4x4 park would not be included next time.....

Yea we talked about you,Dennis too.....We are probably gonna go back sometime in Feb....I will let you know the exact date when we set one....
You missed a great weekend.....No crashes,no breakdowns, and the weather was absolutely flawless......Trails were mudless and pretty much dustless except for a few select spots.....
