crankcase lube oil weight,

Hello,
can anyone tell me what type and weight of oil I should be using in the FL250 crankcase? Also where the oil level should be? Is it at the small plug near the level of the axle, or near the fill cap area?
Thanks for your help,

The manual called for a standard 10w 40. you can also put some 80 weight gear climbing oil if you live where its real hot.
you are supposed to take out the bolt below the frame and fill it until it runs out... when it stops running out put the bolt back and and you are ready to go!
