Parts question
« on: June 04, 2009, 12:24:40 AM »

I heard that comet makes a good clutch setup for the oddessy, anyone use one?? What other clutch place like Dalton or somebody else is there?? Also whats the correct belt for the 83fl250?? I can compress the clutch spring with my hand is that bad? i know you cant do that on my snowmobile, so i figured time for a clutch rebuild. Also i would like to get a new plug wire and coil, i think it dont always get enough spark. i adjusted the carb right, the needle clip was at the top i put it in the 2nd groove, someone said in the middle, but it seemed to run better in the 2nd. i adjusted mixture 1 3/4 turns, sometimes its har to start, i can see fuel in filter, then sometimes it wont idle for crap, and most of time it has a bog when you first take off. i dont know if week spark? I was thinking maybe clutch  so wore out that it cant burn the fuel it gets when you give it gas. i can see my belt rubbed a clean spot on my axle, so i am sure its time for a new belt. I see Tractor supply has the correct air filter for it, i see alot of belts that look close, i want to compare numbers. I want to make the oddessy reliable so me and the wife cant ride worry free. thanks in advance :)

I want to put a little peppier clutch into it to give it a little more, what else can i do to hop it up? gearing?? I wonder from reading other topic, if my vac line to run fuel pump clogs sometimes and makes it run crappy, i can see fuel in clear filter though. It did have alot of crap in the tank and at one time it wouldnt be real low on fuel and it would run till i added fuel, and i replaced fuel filters with a ton of junk in em.

could my exhaust be clogged? i look into the pipe and see alot of carbon, you can barely see any of the holes in the baffle its so clogged. my pipe looks alot different then some of yours, it dont have a heat shield on it or whatever it is.
