Leak Test Failed!!!
« on: April 01, 2009, 11:59:05 AM »
Ok, I leak tested my engine and it failed terribly. I knew the crank had some pitting on it where the seal was located so I had some suspicions.

My concern is that I have brand new bearings and seals in the lower end. How do I get the crank case apart leaving the bearings in the case and not on the crank. I know the heat/freeze method, but I am wondering if there is any way to ensure that they stay in the case side.

Thanks

Are you sure that this was the area of the leak?

Well when there are more suds around the crank and none around everywhere else, I think I found the leak. Its pretty hard to screw a leak test up.
