my 82 ody starts and runs good till it gets a load on it and it will make a "blauh" sound and if you get off of the throttle for a few seconds, it then gets with the program again till another load is on it.       Any ideas on what is wrong

It might possibly be a clogged main jet, weak fuel pump or dirty fuel filter. The engine needs a dose of fuel when it is under load and for some reason the fuel system isn't delivering it properly.
