St Joes Ride
« on: December 08, 2008, 08:14:45 AM »

Just a reminder of the St. Joes trip in late June...Myself and a few others will be arriving on the 22nd and staying until the 28th.....Some are just coming for the weekend...The 6 month window for making the reservations is Dec. 28th, so make them as soon as possible since this place usually books up rather quickly....Even if you are not sure, the cancellation fee is minimal so go ahead and make them.....We will be in campground 1 which is sites 101,102,103, etc.....Not 001,002,003,etc.......The site for reservations is http://www.mostateparks.com
DONT MISS THIS RIDE!!!!!! This is one of the nicest campgrounds you will ever stay in, the riding is great, and it is inexpensive.....There is also lots to do for those that don't like riding.....
See you there!!!!

Yes....We always bring them (if we have one)...lol....This is a family outing my whole family looks forward too each year....
I know my wife,VFR Pilots wife, and Rocketmans wife is coming this year....Those are actually the only 3 guys I know for sure that are coming and married to women that enjoy getting outside.....The ladies always enjoy themselves while there....
I will also be bringing my teenage daughters as well....Will be 14 and 16 by then....Plenty for kids of all ages to do.....

Well, I ran it by darling Deanna this morning, and she wasn't TOO revved up about going, but I think she's going to put in for vacation that week. I'll know tonight.

After hearing the guys talk about it this weekend, a stay at a luxury resort couldn't be more fun!

Just found out that the China buggys are having their bash there again this year at the same time as our ride, so we need to be on top of our reservations to make sure we all get together....12/28/08 is the day we can make them.....

OK are we shooting for sites 101-105 across from the non-reservable
or
sites 106-110 and 116-120 they are across the road from each other
or
sites 110-113 and 114-116 those nearest the trail head...

Are paddles allowed ?
Did anyone run them last time ?

I WILL MAKE THIS RIDE....

We currently have sites 101-104 taken....VFR-101 Rocketman-102,Hoodlum-103, Betel and Throttle-104....Sites 105 on will be available for the taking...These are accross the road from the non-reservable....
Paddles are allowed, but not needed....The sand is quite large granulare and regular dirt tires work fine....Not to mention you have a bit of asphalt riding to get to the trail head, and then some gravel/rocks before you get to the riding area, and it would probably wear a bunch just from that...There are also several places in the riding area that is fairly hard surface....
Glad you are going to make it this year!!!! We are planning on getting there on Monday 22nd and staying until Sunday 28th....Bring the wife and kids too....It is a family event with plenty for everyone to do.....
See you there!!!!

Ok I'll shoot for site 105 and I also plan on being there 6/22 - 6/28
(by taken I'll assume you guys are planning on reserving them)

ALERT - I was snooping around the reservation site and I noticed that you can schedule them 6 months from the BEGINNING of your stay, so we should reserve them come 12/22/2008 NOT 12/28/2008)

That is only a week from TODAY...

Correct ???????

I'll look up on map. The nearest big city with motel? I have slow internet so I can not watch videos. Any width or noise restrictions. Does sound fun. I think about it and thanks for the invite. My new suspion is 67" wide in the rear of my pilot.

The nearest motel is about 5 miles away, and there are several in the area...City is Farmington MO.....There is something on the site about noise levels, but it isn't enforced....There are no width restrictions either....You would only have a problem with the 67 in. in the wooded trails, but we never go there.......Too much fun in the sand areas to be climbing rocks....Best of all, it will cost you a whopping $3 a day to ride in the park!!!!
