Where to find roll cage padding?
« on: December 06, 2008, 10:05:35 PM »
Is there any local stores such as Lowes, Home Depot ect that carries padding to use for the roll cage. I can find it all over the internet but was wondering if I could just go pick some up somewhere???

I've heard that the stuff at hardware stores is for insulation, not for padding. Not as safe, but I imagine better than nothing.
The usual 'my two cents' disclaimer applies. :)

There are two types of the tubing insulation at Home Depot made by Armacell.  The one you want is called Tubolit.  The one you don't want is called Armaflex.   The Tubolit reminds me of the material they make swimming pool floats out of.  The Armaflex will tear very easily and is thinner.  Don't size the insulation too small and try to stretch it to fit.  Its better if it fits loosely.
