I have a simular project, but I'm going to try to put a Rotax 583 that I have sitting in my garage in it. I've seen some of the guys having custom machined input shafts made for the trany that will accept a snowmobile secondary clutch. Have you consitered this and if so do you know where I could buy one. The guy at the machine shop said he could make one, but if I could find one already made and won't break the pocket book, that would be great.

They are custom made. There was a guy once upon a time who made a few of them, but they are long since gone.
