pilot disc brakes
« on: March 11, 2007, 05:08:21 PM »
I have some front hubs, discs and calipers from a 400 honda quad. I think these are the same as the 250r ones people have used on pilots.
can anyone tell me what is needed to get them to fit, I can not find the post I saw on here a while ago on this subject.
Thanks Lee.

You mean this one?

I tried 400EX calipers and did not like any way that I came up with to mount them. I went with the 250R's because I came up with a way to mount them and I liked the dual piston calipers of the 250R. I forget now about the hubs for sure, but I think both bearings were different on the 400Ex's?? Only the inner bearing needs to be changed on the 250R hubs as the outter is the same as the pilot's. The 400EX calipers and hubs are different than the 250R's made in 86-87 which are the heavier than the latter 88 and on which I think are the same as the 400EX's.
