Works heartbeat for stock shocks
« on: December 30, 2006, 05:52:20 PM »
I'm going to replace my daughters shocks on her 350. She is about 175 lbs. and we ride motto and trail. Are they as close to the Works shocks after they rebuild them,or just bite the bullet? Any thing is better then stock ones!
In enjoy the day, were not taking the dirt nap!    :D

Im not sure what you mean by rebuild  them. Are you talking about the stock (Non rebuildable) or Works. If they are Works then have them rebuilt. If not by all means buy the Works. Stock shocks are not evenb close to compare

Hey Odyknuck, I think what he meant was the Works Heart Transplant......  I have heard that you can send in stock shocks and they will rework, revalve or completly replace the guts so they perform better.  I have never had this done so I don't know how much better they would be.....  The stock shocks can be rebuilt but I wouldn't waste my time.  Beside that you need a special spanner wrench and compression tools to do it.

Your wright Weed. Heart Transplant service ofter, you send the stock one and they rebuild and revavle. I've got some Friends that have reworked swing arm shocks, and done pretty good luck. It's half the price, and my darught doesn't ride as much and as hard as we do so she realy doesnt need the good Works shocks.

I would be real interested in how that works out for you? or at least know what you have learned from works on this? I have a pair of works off a Honda 300x I was going to send to works and see if they could transform to fit the fronts off my ody? I wish I was home I would take off my stocks and be the first guinnia pig...
