A-arm coating?

I'm restoreing a pilot and i need a bit of advice, im having the frame powder coated but what coating should i have on the a-arms, obviously it needs to be robust but i do want it to be of a silver colour, will chrome do it? :?:

If you're running in sand, then chrome the things.  If not, powder coating will hold up beautifully.
