I need help...figure this Ebay scam (if it is one) out
« Reply #15 on: December 24, 2005, 10:42:16 AM »
Something tells me that your e-mail with my address was somehow intercepted by someone who steals credit cards and information. The stolen card from the guy that called you (the guy that called you acting like a credit card company), was fraudulently used to purchase (fund) this Bidpay check, but they used your auction as a cover (since it was on the e-mail) to make it look like an explainable, legitimate transaction. The question is, how does the thief (Mr. Stuk, which is probably a fake identity) get his money??? If this is a scam, it's not your average guy trying to sucker someone. This looks like it's an organized thing. You're talking a stolen credit card, stolen personal information and the possibility of a fake identity in the mix.

Can you call the Canadian cops or the American feds and report this? Maybe they can put their resources behind all of this and help to figure it out???
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left!

Hahaha!!! I'm falling out of my chair here, bro!!!

Maybe it's that simple??? I tend to think not, but it's certainly playing out that way!!!

One thing's for sure, if that guy runs his business this way, either everything he has in inventory is stolen or he's just running it in the red.

Personally, I think he was trying out something illegal and that's why you got a call from the third party guy claiming he was from a credit card company. Something went wrong with their little plan and the only way to make things look "legit" is to back-track quickly and completely. The e-mail you just received, along with the expedited mail sending you back your payment, along with not asking for the product back, gives their "story" certain credibility. That credibility is what they need when the "caca hits the ventilator".

Either way...

Merry Christmas!!! LOL!!!
