Kids' dirt bike
« on: July 28, 2005, 01:32:25 PM »
Alright guys here is the question.

The wife saw all the families that showed up for the CC ride and has finally relented into letting me get my 9 year old a dirt bike. Now the question is what kind, and more importantly what size. My son is about 70 pounds and 56" tall. I know the XR 50 will be too small, but I don't know about the others. I don't want one that he will outgrow in a year or two (I know moskito still rides a 50, but he's short anyway).

Any suggestions? He has never ridden before so cheap and easy are concerns here.

Thanks for your input

I can see the look on  Crickets face about the mini motorcycle debate.   TAG will do just fine on a 4 stroker 100.  given if it isn't too tall for him.  the lower cc'd bike are just too small and will end up getting out grown.  I'll keep an eye out on the left coast for any deals.  email me on the specifics to what your looking for.

It may be a little old ,but if you can find a 78 yamaha mx 100 cc bike it would probably be about the right size. They are much smaller in hieght than most any others and the old one i had ,could be beat to death and still just keep on going like the eveready bunnie.Though they have a steel tank, you just couldnt kill the thing. You should be able to find one cheap, somewhere.
similar to this one but 100cc.
