Ram Valve and pipe
« on: September 18, 2004, 05:00:32 PM »
I am fixing up my oddy with my dad. I would like to make a few improvement by adding a K&N filter, Ram Valve and a new pipe. We live in Vermont and I ride on a very hilly, wooded trail so I need low end power, the more the better. I was told the FMF Ram Valve is great for low end power but it is no longer made, can I still get one? Is another reed beter(Limited budget).
I have read a few post in differant groups that say the DG pipe is for just top end and poor in the low end. What pipe is the best for low end and will not upset my mom(to LOUD).Thanks

Do not use a K&N filter. They allow way to much dirt into your motor. Go with a foam Uni-filter. They are half the costr and twice the filter. Run Boyesson dual stage reeds. They run about $30.00 and will bolt right up to your stock cage. They will give you better low end.
