Mikuni jets
« on: March 20, 2014, 10:29:45 AM »
Might someone know about what jets I might need for a 38mm mikuni. I bought a dead pilot. I have come to the assumption that previous owner put a pipe new reeds, and the new carb. it is a flat slide style. he burnt the piston on the first ride. He said he had carb set up with jets for sea level and I do not think he ever actually tweaked it. so I am thinking he ran too lean and burnt the piston. what I do not know is what size jets do I need to have to be able to jet it properly. currently there is a main that says 350. which confused me because when I shop on line and I see much smaller numbers like 140 which is what is in my other pilot that has the stock kein carb. thanks.

I don't know what is the right jet for a Pilot with a 38 Mikuni since I use Keihin 39 PWKs. 350 is smaller than what my YZ490 had in it and what the 38 Mikuni's that were on my Drakart Formula Cross had in them. Might have been as big as 410.
