New toy
« on: February 26, 2016, 12:51:43 PM »
Picked this up yesterday for a little project. At first I thought it was an fl350 (i really wanted the rear suspension) but after I got it uncovered and out of the dark garage, I realized it was a fl250. What year does this appear to be? I'm new to the odyssey world so Ill probably have a lot of questions. I started pulling some parts off last night. It was loaded with black widow spiderwebs and the throttle cable was seized. After removing the cable and trying to work it free, it actually broke from the rust so it will need to be replaced. It appears to be missing a few things but overall I think its pretty complete. Ill need a new fuel tank, (it was rigged with an old 3 wheeler fuel tank) Ill also need brake and throttle cables. He also mentioned something about the rear brake caliper.

Since I am not familiar with these, Is there a gear selector to switch between neutral and forward or is it just in forward gear all the time?

If you look on the frame by the back brake caliper there should be numbers there post them then we could see what year it is . It's older then an 1980 model. Pick up a Manuel you will need it.most of the parts you'll need you can pick up on eBay . I have both the 250 and 350 and the 250 parts are a lot cheaper  .your going to wont to do a compression test and a leak test to see where your motor at . The 250 is easy to work on .
