Name of part that connects choke to the carb?
« on: March 24, 2013, 09:56:58 PM »
Title says it all.   I tried starting my Pilot today and it wouldnt turn over.  Well it turns out the part that connects the choke cable to the carb is made of plastic and its stripped.  Does anyone know the name of the part or where to get one?
Have a riding trip this weekend and would appreciate some help!

That piece is supplied with a new choke cable...I think the only other option is to install one of the hand operated ones that doesn't use a cable....Pretty much any of the ones for a Keihin carb will work....Have you tried useing some rtv silicone to hold it in? I know it's not the best option, but it might get you out of a bind.....

I have a temp fix on it right now with some plumbers tape around the screw.  But I found one of those ones without a cable but I think I want to keep everything stock.  Thanks for the info

The starter valve is not included with the choke cable. It is a separate kit. You can't get just the plastic piece.

Any other ideas?  Because that starter valve kit is 70 bucks.  Ha

It is out of stock and discontinued anyway. I think the price got raised when there was like 1 or 2 left.

You can switch to a knob style one which is inexpensive. It is probably possible to cut a knob style one apart to use the plastic part with the rest of the pieces form the cable one.
