Fl250 Pillow Block Removal HELP
« on: January 06, 2012, 04:16:12 PM »
H All! I can't separate the rear axle pillow block from the rear axle axle. I have the axle and pillow block on the table but the pillow block won't come off the axle cause it hits a raise portion of the axle on either end. Any suggestions or tricks?

Thanks!

Hello! I don't have much for you other than to get a manual if it's not clear which way to press the axle out. Are  the raised sections just rust?
The usual 'my two cents' disclaimer applies. :)

Turns out that the previous owner (I'm guessing) when he did some welding on the Oddy frame got some weld splatter on the collars on the drive shaft. After I found the splatter and lightly ground them down the pillow block came off easily. Thanks for your reply(s) !!!
