I've never known anyone to swap the whole engine into a Pilot. The 500 conversions I've heard of involve modifying the Pilot bottom end to allow the 500 cylinder to be used with it. I would think it's rather involved.
The usual 'my two cents' disclaimer applies. :)

Well,it's not exactly that easy...ATV Racing does a conversion to allow a 500 cylinder to be used on a pilot lower end...It requires re-locating the cylinder studs, lots of case welding, and port matching....It is somewhat expensive, but does make better torque, and 500 cylinders are easily available....Their conversion price includes the case mods,a cylinder, piston, and a pipe to work on the cylinder...Last time I checked it was somewhere around $3000....

Are you planning on keeping the 500 or interested in selling it now?
You only need two tools in life -- WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
