thinking of going to a 38mm carb need some help

Ok,once i can start my oddy im thinking to go to a  38mm flat slide carb from a honda cr250 dirtbike,wondering if i can use this same carb and just replace the needles on it,i was thinking on starting at a 45 slow and a 175 main,im about 1200 ft above sea level any ideas?
what are the advantages and disadvantages?

If your engine is ported,and you have a performance pipe,you will see good gains from a larger carb...If it's not,you won't...A 38 is a pretty big jump...For some reason I am thinking 32 is stock?...I would try a 34 or 36...I run a 36 on my pilot and love it...It's a keihin air stryker...
